Our Members
There would be no orchestra if it wasn't for our members. Our members make NDCO the vibrant and exciting group that it is. We strive to create a supportive, inclusive environment for all our members, old and new, and make a deliberate effort to encourage members to get to know one another through tea breaks at every rehearsal and regular socials.
About NDCO Membership
The North Downs Community Orchestra is a fun, friendly, amateur orchestra open to all musicians who play an orchestral instrument. We are comprised of beginners and maestros alike, and many of us have returned to music after not having played for a period of time. Our shared love of music, fun, and playing in an orchestra and ensembles is what brings us together.
As a community orchestra, new members are warmly welcomed. We will discuss your playing background, instrument, any special needs or support you may require, and generally see that you are well looked after at your free introductory rehearsal. We are an adult orchestra, and can only accept members who are aged 18+. The orchestra is managed by a committee made up of players, who are also Trustees of the charity.

There is no annual membership fee to join. We charge £5 per rehearsal. We offer the flexibility of paying on a pay-as-you-play basis, or an upfront payment for the term's rehearsals.

If you would like to join us, please send us a message via our contact form. We look forward to welcoming you at our next rehearsal!
