Caterham Festival Concert on Fathers' Day

On Sunday, 17th June, the North Downs Community Orchestra held its Caterham Festival Summer Concert in the beautiful St John's Church, Caterham.

Despite the date being Fathers' Day, they had a super audience! The event was very well supported - it was particularly good to be able to welcome Caterham residents as well as the orchestra's loyal 'Friends and Family' audience!

The orchestra was ably prepared for this concert by the its Musical Director, Shona Fenion.

Feedback from audience members mentioned the obvious happiness that the orchestra members experience whilst playing together. 'Something's Stirring on Godstone Green', the orchestra's signature overture (if it's possible to call it a signature and an overture), was played, 'Better than ever!' It was clear that the orchestra had worked hard on their spirited rendition of 'The Sound of Music' which, at 12 songs, was more challenging and longer than versions more usually played by community orchestras.

Many thanks to Caterham Festival for inviting North Downs Community Orchestra to take part again! Thank you too to St John's Church, Caterham Valley, for kindly providing the concert's venue with its lovely acoustics and very helpful facilities.
